These past few weeks, kicker Harrison Butker has been all over the news regarding various issues. While he has been quite a controversial figure lately, Kansas City Chiefs fans have applauded the franchise for extending him with a new contract.
Just recently, the Chiefs signed Butker to a four-year, $25.6 million contract extension, making him the highest-paid kicker in the NFL. The deal includes $17.75 million in guaranteed money, with an average annual salary of $6.4 million, surpassing the previous highest-paid kickers, Justin Tucker of the Baltimore Ravens and Jake Elliott of the Philadelphia Eagles, who both average $6 million per season.

Butker, who represented and negotiated the deal himself, has been a reliable and clutch performer for the Chiefs since joining the team in 2017. He has a career field goal percentage of 89.1%, which is second all-time behind Tucker’s 90.2%. he has been instrumental in several key postseason victories for the Chiefs, including game-winning field goals in Super Bowl LVII and the AFC Championship Game.
Last season, Butker was 33-of-35 on field goals, with six makes from 50 yards or more. The contract extension ties him to the Chiefs through the 2028 season, ensuring the team’s stability at the kicker position for the foreseeable future.

“I stand with Harrison Butker. Good job, Chiefs!🙏” Buzz Patterson reacted.
“You are doing amazing things for the sport and for Christ. Extremely happy to hear this. May the Lord Bless you 🙏🏻🕊️” neurohackingwithnate posted.
“Thank you for standing up for God and speaking truth, don’t ever bend your beliefs the American people are behind you, may God richly bless you for your testimony. This is coming from a lions fan as well!” Dadof5 shared.
“Great move by Chiefs. Congrats!” Jack Buckingham expressed.
Apart from becoming the highest-paid kicker in league history, Butker has also been involved in a recent controversy revolving around country singer Morgan Wallen wearing what appeared to be his jersey. While it was later debunked, it still built on the kicker’s controversial graduation speech that talked about women’s roles at home, reproductive issues, and the role of women at home.

After winning the Super Bowl earlier this year, fans are eagerly anticipating the Patrick Mahomes-led team to accomplish a three-peat next season. With Butker back in the fold, the Chiefs have a stronger chance of doing something that has never been done before in the NFL.
