Kansas City Chiefs Provide Josh Simmons Update
The Kansas City Chiefs are getting prepared for their Week 8 game against the Washington Commanders, but one player who is in the discussion is offensive tackle Josh Simmons. Simmons has not been with the team since before their Week 6 game against the Detroit Lions.
When speaking to the media on Thursday to address the injury report, coach Andy Reid discussed there are no issues regarding the rookie first-rounder and the team.
“There’s communication. I’m not going to get into all of it. Everything’s positive; it’s not a negative situation. He’s taking care of family.”
Reid would also be asked if the Kansas City Chiefs have any indication of a timeline for Simmons to return to the team. However, he would sidestep the question.
“It’s been positive. He’s just taking care of business. That’s the main thing, right here. When you deal with this, that’s what you do. And he’s been very good about communicating it.”
Even though the Kansas City Chiefs have not disclosed a timeline for him to return, it appears that the situation is being handled behind closed doors. It will be interesting to see when Simmons will be able to return to the team as well as being on the field.
