Former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney received a great deal of criticism during his days with the team, and rightly so. In his only full season with the Chiefs, Toney had a 13.2% drop percentage and was a healthy inactive for their victory in Super Bowl LVIII. Prior to being traded to Kansas City, he received a great deal of criticism from New York Giants fans, as he never lived up to his first-round draft pick status.
In 2024, Toney appeared in just three games for the Cleveland Browns, but did not record a single reception and was only targeted once.
And now, despite being just 26 years old, his future in the NFL is in serious doubt.
Former Kansas City Chiefs Wide Receiver Kadarius Toney Has Been Arrested for Strangling a Woman

According to a report by TMZ, Toney was arrested for allegedly strangling a woman in Georgia:
“According to police documents we obtained, the former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver was accused of putting his hand around a woman’s throat during a dispute at a Georgia residence on Jan. 14 … and squeezing ‘with enough force to cause her to be unable to breath.'”
Per the report, the woman had red marks around her neck and petechial hemorrhaging in her eyes. Toney also is alleged to have taken the woman’s phone during the attack to prevent her from calling 9-1-1.
Toney was apparently arrested on February 6 on charges of aggravated assault, strangulation, and obstructing/harassing 9-1-1 calls.
Bond was set at $25,000 for each charge.
NFL Fans Are Not Happy with Former Kansas City Chiefs Wide Receiver Kadarius Toney

Unfortunately, Toney is not the first NFL player to have allegations brought against him this offseason. Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker is being sued by multiple women for sexual harassment.
As was the case when Tucker’s allegations became public, NFL fans are calling on teams to leave Toney un-rostered in future:

Toney was barely a good enough player to make a NFL practice squad before this arrest. If the allegations prove to be true, his career may very well be over.
And if they are true, it should be. Frankly, any professional athlete in any sport that commits acts of violence like this should not be honored with roster spots.
