On Friday, the NFL and Roger Goodell flipped another page on the Justyn Ross (Kansas City Chiefs) saga. Per NFL insider Adam Schefter, the league has suspended Chiefs wide receiver Justyn Ross for six games for violating the personal conduct policy.

Ross has spent the past five games on the Commissioner’s Exempt List, meaning he will be free to return to the team after their Week 14 clash against the Buffalo Bills (which would be his sixth game out). However, Ross will have to pay the league back since he was technically on paid leave, and the suspension comes with a monetary penalty.
Kansas City Chiefs WR Justyn Ross: Suspension Stems from October Arrest
Ross, an undrafted free agent from 2022, has been on the Commissioner’s Exempt List since the last week of October. Ross was arrested in late October for domestic battery and criminal property damage after an altercation with his girlfriend. Reports indicated the wideout caused damages of nearly $1,000 after he became aware of his significant other stepping outside their relationship.
Ross had a standout college career with the Clemson Tigers, recording 159 catches for 2,389 yards and 20 scores. He shined brightest on the biggest stage, tallying six receptions for 153 yards and a touchdown in the 2019 College Football Playoff Championship.

KC Chiefs: Down Offensive Year
Ross has struggled to carve out a role in 2023 despite a solid preseason and receiving much hype from star quarterback Patrick Mahomes. The lengthy wideout had just three receptions for 34 yards this season before being moved off the active roster. However, the rest of the receiver room has floundered. Mahomes, a two-time MVP, is amid a career-worst season. The Super Bowl MVP has 22 touchdowns against ten picks this season while tracking for his worst rating since becoming the team’s full-time starter in 2018.
However, despite youngsters like Ross and Skyy Moore failing to step up, rookie speedster Rashee Rice has impressed. The 23-year-old has 52 receptions for 591 yards and five scores.
