Anthony Palacios of Last Word on Sports has named Kansas City as one of the top potential landing spots for 49ers star wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk if San Francisco decides to trade him this offseason.
Aiyuk would be a huge get for the Chiefs. While he is coming off of a torn ACL that he suffered in just his seventh game of the season, the 27-year-old wideout is a big-time playmaker when he’s on the field.
In the seven games that he played in 2024, Aiyuk caught 25 passes for 374 yards, but did not score a touchdown. Back in 2023, he totaled 75 receptions for 1,342 yards and seven touchdowns.
Depending on the price tag of the trade, Kansas City should absolutely pursue a trade for Aiyuk if the 49ers place him on the trade block. Acquiring Aiyuk would give Mahomes a new No. 1 wide receiver.
Should fans expect to see the Chiefs find a way to acquire Aiyuk from San Francisco? Probably not, but it’s an option to keep an eye on depending on what the 49ers choose to do with the talented wideout.
