The Kansas City Chiefs have been dealing with massive injuries at the wide receiver position despite being 4-0 to start the season. Hollywood Brown is already out with an injury and Rashee Rice was carted off the field for the Chiefs in the win against the Los Angeles Chargers.
At some point, the Kansas City Chiefs may need to trade for a wide receiver before the November 5 NFL Trade Deadline. Xavier Worthy for now will be the top wide receiver in the offense.
Kansas City Chiefs Fans Explode When NFL Network’s Peter Schrager Suggests That They Should Go After Los Angeles Rams Wide Receiver Cooper Kupp
On Monday, Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay ruled out wide receiver Cooper Kupp for the Week 5 matchup against the Green Bay Packers. Kupp has not played since Week 2 against the Arizona Cardinals. The Rams will be on a bye week after this game. With the Rams 1-3 on the season, they may be sellers at the NFL trade deadline.
On Monday morning, NFL Network’s Peter Schrager mentioned on Good Morning Football that Kansas City Chiefs general manager Brett Veach should give the Los Angeles Rams a call about wide receiver Cooper Kupp. This is what fans had to say on Twitter about the Chiefs making a move for Kupp at the NFL trade deadline:
Kupp to the Chiefs would break my soul

The NFL is rigged for the Chiefs, they’ll still win it all no matter what.

The Chiefs need a replacement WR because of injuries – wouldn’t Keenan Allen and Cooper Kupp (to a lesser extent) just add to that problem?
— Official #ChiefsKingdom Mom (@TheReal_JLW) September 30, 2024
Thinking about how washed Cooper Kupp would be the best true receiver the Chiefs have had in years.

If I see Cooper Kupp get traded to the Chiefs, I may just cry. My soul is not ready for that! https://t.co/i5CBfisvsp

This season with the Los Angeles Rams, he has caught 18 passes for 147 yards receiving and one touchdown, along with averaging 8.2 yards per reception. Cooper Kupp going to the Kansas City Chiefs in a trade would be fascinating to see.
Contract Situation
According to Spotrac, the Rams could get out of his contract after this season. If they were not to get out of his contract after this season, he wouldn’t be a free agent until after the 2026 season.
Cooper Kupp is 31 years old and he is not getting any younger. The Rams getting something back for Kupp for nothing could be in play at the NFL trade deadline.
