The Kansas City Chiefs were recently informed that President Donald Trump intends to invite the team to the White House this year after he holds the traditional meeting with the Super Bowl Champions. This year, of course, that team is the Philadelphia Eagles, who defeated the Chiefs 40-22 in Super Bowl LIX.
However, Trump wants to invite Kansas City because they were not able to visit him after winning the Super Bowl in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Of course, there are many members of the Chiefs organization that have supported Trump for a long time. During his Presidential campaign, kicker Harrison Butker was arguably the most vocal of these supporters. That being said, owner Clark Hunt has been a huge supporter of the President for years now, but there is one policy on which the Chiefs owner seems disagree with him.
Kansas City Chiefs Owner Clark Hunt, Other NFL Owners, Fire Back at Donald Trump Regarding DEI

One of the first things Trump did when he was sworn into office was to issue an executive order cancelling all Diversity, Equity, and Inclusiveness (DEI) programs in the federal government. This has led to private companies and organizations doing the same, though their choosing to do so was not mandated by the order.
The NFL, over the years, has made DEI programs a priority in many ways. How well those programs work or how seriously they are taken by some is a matter of discussion, but the fact remains that DEI is often on the minds of NFL owners and decision-makers.
And many of these owners do not intend to follow in Trump’s footsteps regarding DEI programs, including the Chiefs owner.
According to the Sports Business Journal, Hunt said, “The league remains very committed to growing diversity, whether it’s in the coaching staffs, the front office, really just across the league. I don’t think that’s something where you see a significant change in policy.”
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell also had a firm take: “I’ve been very clear that we think diversity makes us better. I think a lot of our policies are designed to give opportunities and develop that talent. A lot of our programs are designed in that way, and we’re fully committed to continuing that work to try to develop better talent and give them that opportunity and make the NFL better, ultimately.
“So, we’re all in on that and, obviously, we’re going to be fully compliant with federal laws. We always have been, and we’ll continue to do that.”
Other owners that spoke in favor of keeping the league’s DEI programs were Jerry Jones (Dallas Cowboys), Arthur Blank (Atlanta Falcons), and Robert Kraft (New England Patriots).
