The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Denver Broncos by the score of 16-14 in one of the most improbable ways possible. After Harrison Butker gave the Chiefs the lead by kicking a 20-yard field goal with 5:57 remaining in the game, Broncos rookie quarterback Bo Nix marched Denver down the field, putting them in field goal range as the clock dwindled.
With one second remaining in the game, the Broncos took a time out with the ball on Kansas City’s 17-yard line. Will Lutz came in to kick what would have been the game-winning field goal which would have resulted in the Chiefs’ first loss of the season.
But the kick was blocked as the clock hit 0:00, and the Chiefs remained undefeated:

Kansas City moved to 9-0 on the season while Denver fell to 5-5. The Chiefs face a big test next week when they travel to take on the Buffalo Bills, who many consider to be one of the few teams that could challenge them in the AFC. Denver, meanwhile, will return home to take on the pesky Atlanta Falcons next week.
Fans Claim the NFL Is Scripted Following the Kansas City Chiefs Victory Over the Denver Broncos
As the back-to-back Super Bowl Champions, many NFL fans already hold the belief that the league has been scripted for the Chiefs for some time. The shocking way in which they won on Sunday did nothing to assuage these beliefs, as fans on social media made abundently clear:

While it is easy for fans to feel that way, it should be noted that players put their bodies on the line every time they take the field. Many players end their careers with their bodies permanent disabled because of the beating they take week in and week out.
It is also noteworthy that most NFL careers do not last more than four years, and it is even less for running backs. These two facts alone are huge counterarguments to the claim that the league scripts games to have specific outcomes.
