The Kansas City Chiefs and the Cincinnati Bengals are once again facing off, but for the first time in years, the matchup won’t have dire playoff implications.
The fact that this matchup is taking place in week two has not stopped the Bengals and the Chiefs going at it through the media before the game.
Cincinnati Bengals CB Cam Taylor-Britt called out a Kansas City Chiefs WR
Young Bengals defensive star Cam Taylor-Britt started this edition of the back-and-forth by calling out Chiefs rookie wide receiver Xavier Worthy.
Taylor-Britt poked at Worthy’s size and said his only skill is running in a straight line in another article from Gridiron Heroics.
“Speed,” Cameron-Britt told reporters is what Worthy adds to the Chiefs’ offense. “That’s about it. He can run straight. Run jet sweeps and just run straight.
He can’t do too much else, that’s about it. If you can put hands on him, he’s only 100-something pounds. If you put hands on him, you’ll stop the speed. So, basically, get your hands on him.”

Worthy broke the record for the fastest 40-yard dash in NFL Scouting Combine history with a 4.21-second 40-yard dash. Taylor Britt struggled to keep up with another Chiefs WR, Rashee Rice, in the late-season matchup with the Chiefs that decided the Bengals’ playoff fate in 2023. Rice ran a 4.51-second 40-yard dash.

Kansas City Chiefs WR Rashee Rice responded to the Cincinnati Bengals
Rice did not fully give into the trash talk dished out by Taylor-Britt, but he did respond to it when he was talking to the media Thursday.
Rice had no response for Taylor-Britt other than that the Chiefs’ play would do all the talking. Rice went on to say that he and the Chiefs are “locked in” ahead of their week two matchup with the Bengals.

Rice was a rookie in 2023 meaning he has never lost to the Bengals. He exploded as the Chiefs’ leading receiver in their last matchup with Cincinnati. Rice led all receivers in the game with five receptions and 127 yards receiving. No other receiver had more than 41 yards receiving.
Rice will once again have the opportunity to let his play do the talking against a downtrodden Bengals team that is coming off a disappointing week one loss to the New England Patriots.
