Former New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman is not impressed with how NFL rookies today are seemingly more focused on chasing clout on social media, rather than working on their game.
In his podcast “Dudes on Dudes,” Julian Edelman got honest about his thoughts on new NFL players who are seemingly more focused on going viral on TikTok rather than training for their professional journey.
“When you’re a higher-drafted guy, you want to make these guys look like they were right for drafting you high,” he said. “You want to be a professional, you know?”
“When I would see a highly drafted guy come in and think that way, it turned me off as a player and made me know that he wasn’t the guy. We didn’t get the right guy. You know what I mean?” Edelman added.
“Yeah, we like to do TikToks and have fun, but when there are a hundred guys in the locker room and they cut that s*** down to 53—you know, I think I’d rather be f***** fighting instead of TikToking and having all this fun and all this s***.”
Edelman did not specify anyone in his commentary. But to recall, the top five picks in the 2025 NFL Draft were Cam Ward (QB, Miami) to the Tennessee Titans at No. 1, Travis Hunter (CB/WR, Colorado) to the Jacksonville Jaguars at No. 2, Abdul Carter (DE, Penn State) to the New York Giants at No. 3, Mason Graham (DT, Michigan) to the Arizona Cardinals at No. 4, and Ashton Jeanty (RB, Boise State) to the Las Vegas Raiders at No. 5.

Julian Edelman Selected for New England Patriots Hall of Fame
Former New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman has been chosen as the 37th inductee into the Patriots Hall of Fame, securing the honor over fellow finalists Adam Vinatieri and Logan Mankins. His induction comes four years after his retirement in 2021, making him eligible for the prestigious honor.
The Patriots announced that the ceremony date and details will be finalized soon, with Edelman and former head coach Bill Parcells both set to be honored.

Edelman transitioned from a college quarterback at Kent State to an elite NFL wide receiver, overcoming the odds as a seventh-round draft pick in 2009.
Known for his clutch catches, Julian Edelman secured the game-winning touchdown in Super Bowl XLIX, made a legendary fingertip catch in Super Bowl LI, and was named Super Bowl LIII MVP after recording 10 receptions for 141 yards against the Los Angeles Rams.
