It’s finally here. The 2022 NFL season is finally here. Every week of this NFL season I will be documenting my betting picks for the week here on the site. I do put my own money on these bets. All odds will come from BetMGM sportsbook.

Bet 1: Trevor Lawrence Over 1.5 Passing Touchdowns +120
After a tumultuous rookie campaign in 2021, Trever Lawrence is primed for a breakout year in 2022. With a massive upgrade at head coach and offensive play caller in Doug Pederson, Lawrence is ready to explode. The Jaguars also upgraded at offensive line and pass catcher this offseason. The Commanders will be without starting safety Kam Curl. This leaves an already suspect secondary down a huge piece. Juiced odds are just the icing on the cake.

Bet 2: Alvin Kamara Over 30.5 Receiving Yards -115
Alvin Kamara has started 73 games in his NFL career. In only 28 of those 73 games has he failed to reach 31 receiving yards. The Atlanta Falcons are fielding a sneaky good defense heading into 2022. AJ Terrell leads a good secondary, while Grady Jarrett will look to bounce back leading an improved defensive line. The Falcons will be looking to get Jameis Winston uncomfortable with manufactured pressures. This could lead to easy dumpoff yards for Kamara, as well as a few designed screens.

Bet 3: Philadelphia Eagles -5.5 vs Detroit Lions -110
While we all love this years Hard Knocks darlings, week one will be a hard reality check for the Lions. The Eagles boast one of the most complete rosters in the NFL from top to bottom. Meanwhile, the Lions have glaring holes at quarterback, cornerback, safety, and off ball linebacker. Basically the entire defense, no big deal right? The offense has plenty of exciting talent but won’t be enough to overcome middling quarterback play and a rough defense. Think the Eagles win by a touchdown, possibly double digits.

Bet 4: Baltimore Ravens -6.5 vs New York Jets -110
I think the NFL community has collectively forgotten how good the Ravens are when healthy. 2021 was a lost season from the start. Lamar Jackson will be looking to prove himself worthy of a massive new contract this year. The Ravens should run right over this Jets team. With Zach WIlson out for the first four weeks, it will be up to Joe Flacco to pull off the upset. I feel very comfortable betting against Joe Flacco at this point in his career.
