Week four is here and we are rounding out the first month of the NFL. I’m not going to sugar coat it; we are taking it in the teeth so far this year. We went 1-3 in week three thanks to my epic jinx on the Chiefs, Carson Wentz and the second half of the Bills game, where both teams decided to stop scoring points. This is the nature of betting on sports. Time to get into the bets. I do put my own money on these bets. All odds for these bets are from BetMGM sportsbook. After a disastrous week three, we move to 4-8 on the season, for a net loss of 5.45 units. All bets are one unit unless specified otherwise.

Bet 1: Ravens ML VS Bills +135
The Ravens continue to get no respect from oddsmakers in Vegas. Against this banged up Bills team, the Ravens should be dead even, if not slight favorites. Lamar Jackson is playing lights out to start the season. The defense has struggled, but still has plenty of star talent. The Bills are still missing basically their entire secondary, and some of the players filling in are coming into this game dinged up. Getting the Ravens, at home, to win this game with plus odds is tremendous value. You will keep seeing the Ravens in these bets until Vegas shows some respect.
Bet 2: Jets ML @ Steelers +150
We are looking at yet another underdog money line. A lot of people might like this bet given the return of Zach Wilson, but that isn’t why I’m on it. It’s time we all get used to the Steelers being a bad team. I understand the hesitance. The Steelers have been one of the best teams in the regular season the last 20 years, but that time is over. Now the Jets are no juggernaut, but I trust them more than the Steelers. The defense without TJ Watt doesn’t have the juice to carry this team. In what will be a truly ugly game, I expect the Jets to win.

Bet 3: Cardinals ML @ Panthers +105
It genuinely baffles me how the Panthers are favorites in this game. I understand that the Cardinals haven’t looked great, but let’s be real. The Panthers are not a good football team. The offense is so uninspiring and the defense is alright, but so far away from carrying the team to a win against Kyler Murray. I suspect this can be a get right game for the Cardinals after a disappointing start to the season. The Cardinals will also get a jolt of life into the offense with the season debut of Rondale Moore. However; this bet is more about fading the Panthers. Sorry Panthers fans, your franchise is in shambles.

Bet 4: Vikings -2.5 @ Saints -110
Ok fine, I’ll throw a favorite in here. The NFL has its first game in London this week, as the Vikings duel the Saints in what has become somewhat of a rivalry. The Vikings, in addition to being the better team, are facing the Saints while they are pretty beat up. Multiple starters are missing practice, including starting QB Jameis Winston. Famous Jameis hasn’t been good healthy, I can only imagine what a beat up crab leg enthusiast will look like. The Saints do sport a pretty solid defense, but they have a tough matchup this week against an offense overflowing with talent.
