One of the best decisions made in recent memory by the Green Bay Packers was to sign star running back Josh Jacobs in the 2024 NFL offseason.  Jacobs immediately proved himself to the Packers, rushing for 235 yards on 48 carries in his first two games with Green Bay in the 2024 NFL campaign.

The former Alabama Crimson Tide star tailback finished that season with 1,329 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns on 301 carries through 17 games. He was durable and effective for the Packers, who inked him to a four-year, $48 million contract.

Josh Jacobs believed he could have done more in 2024

Despite his big numbers in 2024 and his re-establishment as among the league’s most dangerous ground weapons, Jacobs is not fully satisfied with his body of work on the field in that season.

“I feel like I had a good year, but I feel like I still left a lot on the table,” Jacobs said (via Wes Hodkiewicz of Packers.com). “For me, it’s just trying to come in and chase that No. 1 spot and raise a Super Bowl (trophy) at the end of the day. That’s the only thing that’s really on my mind.”

Jacobs, who turned 27 years old last February, can surpass everything he’s done in 2024 in his upcoming second season with Green Bay, which should continue to give him a ton of touches in 2025 in the backfield and as among the chief offensive pieces of the Packers’ attack that averaged 26.1 points and 366.7 total yards per game last season.
