WR Jordan Faison suffered an injury against Texas A&M
One key member of the offense and special teams unit will not be available against North Illinois on Saturday after suffering an ankle injury against Texas A&M. Wide receiver and punter returner Jordan Faison suffered an injury in the second quarter.
Per Tyler Horka with On3, head coach Marcus Freeman said after the game that he didn’t believe Faison’s injury was too serious. Freeman was hoping Faison could return to the field quickly.
It won’t be a super quick turnaround for the Sophomore.
Faison will miss 1-2 Notre Dame football games
Per an update on Monday, Freeman said Faison suffered a sprained ankle on Saturday night. Faison will be out against NIU and could miss Notre Dame’s contest against Purdue on Sept. 14.
Faison recorded two receptions for 12 yards against Texas A&M. Faison caught 19 passes for 322 yards and four touchdowns as a freshman last season. He returned two punts for 28 yards in 2023.
Per a statement by Notre Dame PR, the Irish are listing Jaden Greathouse as Faison’s replacement as a punt returner. Kris Mitchell will take his spot as a receiver.
