The Minnesota Vikings have a wide receiver problem to begin the season.

The Vikings are unsure of the availability of Justin Jefferson as the star receiver recovers from a hamstring injury he suffered early in training camp. Minnesota is bracing to be without Jordan Addison for the first three weeks of the season due to a suspension stemming from a DUI arrest in July of 2024.

“The NFL has suspended Vikings WR Jordan Addison without pay for the first three games of the 2025 regular season for violating the NFL’s Substances of Abuse Policy,” Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network posted on X. “Addison is permitted to participate in all training camp activities, including preseason games.

“Addison recently pled no contest to a lesser charge to resolve the case surrounding his 2024 DUI arrest. Three games is the standard suspension for a first DUI offense.”

Addison, 23, was a first-round pick by the Vikings in 2023. He’s recorded 133 receptions for 1,786 yards and 19 touchdowns in his first two seasons in the league. He made the PFWA All-Rookie Team in 2023.

The loss of Addison is a blow for quarterback J.J. McCarthy, set to make his debut as the starter for Minnesota in Week 1 against the Chicago Bears. He’ll be without one of his best targets, and depending on Jefferson, maybe even two.
