Jordan Addison, wide receiver for the Minnesota Vikings, is currently awaiting the National Football League’s decision regarding his DUI incident from last year. Addison has agreed to be charged with a ‘wet reckless’, which refers to a misdemeanor involving alcohol but no DUI conviction. According to the charge, Addison will need to pay a fine and undergo two online courses.

The talented wide receiver who joined the team back in 2023 after being bagged in the first round, was found asleep at the wheel in July and was found to have elevated levels of alcohol in his blood, much above the legal limit. Addison seems to have accepted his fate and is patiently waiting for the NFL’s sentence, according to a report by ESPN writer Kevin Seifert.
“Vikings WR Jordan Addison, who pleaded no contest to a reduced charge as part of his 2024 SUI citation, on the possibility of NFL discipline: “Everything is out of my control right now, but whatever the league’s got for me, I’ll be prepared for the decision that they make.” Kevin Seifert tweeted through his X account about Jordan Addison’s ‘wet reckless’ charge.

Despite the DUI conviction, Jordan Addison did manage to play in the 2024 NFL season and managed a total of 63 receptions with nine touchdowns for the Vikings. Addison will most likely face suspension from at least three games in the upcoming football season, according to the NFL’s rules and regulations.
Jordan Addison’s Minnesota Vikings Have Been In Contact With NFL
Jordan Addison’s case is not only being taken seriously by him, but also by his team, the Minnesota Vikings. Vikings general manager, Kwesi Adofo-Mensah remarked that the team has been in constant contact with the NFL about Addison’s case, as reported by ESPN’s Kevin Seifert.

Adofo-Mensah also reiterated that the Minnesota Vikings would simply accept any punishment given out by the National Football League, as a means to comply by the league’s guidelines. If Addison is indeed suspended for a number of games, the Vikings will try to lean on Jalen Nailor as wide receiver.
The Minnesota Vikings themselves have been strongly eyeing a better record for themselves in the upcoming NFL season after only managing to make it as far as the Wild Card round in the 2024 campaign. The Vikings are scheduled to soon kick off their 2025 football year with a matchup against the Chicago Bears in Week 1.
