Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals quarterback, is worried about losing Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins from the team. On Thursday’s episode of ‘First Take’, Burrow openly admitted that he wanted general manager Joe Tobin to do everything in his power to retain Chase and Higgins.
According to Burrow, Chase and Higgins are fantastic playmakers and losing them would cost the Bengals plenty. The Bengals finished the 2024 NFL season third in the AFC North with nine wins and eight defeats, and are surely eager to do better in the next one.
“He (Ja’Marr Chase) is a guy that continues to make big-time plays every single time he touches the field. So when you have a guy like that, you can’t let him leave.” Joe Burrow said on ‘First Take’ about wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase.
“That’s a guy that we got to keep, too. When he’s on the field, he’s a game changer for us. Not only for our team, but for Ja’Marr. Teams can’t just focus in on him and double him and cloud him. They have to worry about Tee Higgins on the other side of the field. We have the space that we need to keep both of those guys.” Joe Burrow went on to say about wide receiver Tee Higgins.
In the 2024 NFL season, Ja’Marr Chase managed a total of 127 receptions for 1,708 yards, scoring 17 touchdowns. Meanwhile, Tee Higgins contributed 73 receptions for the team with 911 yards, scoring ten touchdowns.
