The Cincinnati Bengals are 0-2, but they have worse news on the injury front heading into Week 3. Joe Burrow sustained a calf injury in training camp and missed the Bengals preseason while trying to get healthy enough to play in the regular season.
Burrow returned to the playing field for Week 1, but his numbers have not been nearly as efficient as the 2022 season. Burrow has just 304 yards passing with two touchdowns to one interception through the first two weeks of the season.
The Cincinnati Bengals have a concern with Joe Burrow’s calf
Per multiple reports, Burrow tweaked his calf during the Bengals’ loss to the Baltimore Ravens. According to Ben Baby with ESPN, Burrow said after the game his injury would be one that would cause complications for himself and the Bengals throughout the season:
But the calf is a lingering concern.
“Whenever you have these kind of things, it’s always ongoing,” Burrow said when asked whether the calf could be an issue throughout the season. “It’s always something that you’re managing.”
As Evan Jeffries pointed out on X, Burrow’s lingering calf injury is a major worry for the MVP-caliber quarterback and the Bengals. Injured calves can become Achilles injuries.

The New York Jets saw firsthand in Week 1 what an Achilles injury can do to the quarterback position when Aaron Rodgers went down for the season. The Bengals, who started off the season 0-2 against AFC North opponents this season, have bigger worries than the Los Angeles Rams in Week 3 this week.
