Cincinnati Bengals fans were upset with head coach Zac Taylor’s decision on Joe Burrow’s status ahead of the team’s Week 5 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals.
Burrow has been battling through a calf injury he sustained in training camp. He’s been so-so through the Bengals’ first four weeks.
Through the season, Burrow is 87/151 passing for 728 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions. Burrow was just 20/30 passing for 165 yards in the Bengals Week 4 loss to the Titans. The 1-3 Bengals put up just three points in the blowout loss.
Burrow’s poor play had some fans thinking Burrow could miss a game or more while he recovers from the calf injury. The 2022 MVP candidate has not looked the same this season with the injury.
According to Kelsey Conway with USA Today, Taylor plans to start Burrow against the Cardinals in Week 5.

Bengals fans overwhelmingly disagreed with Taylor’s decision. Here are the best takes of Bengals fans wanting a week of Jake Browning starting.

Why doing that with him? It can make his lesion get worse man.

Well tell Zach Taylor to let him throw farther than 4 yards down the field

Just give him some rest man, hasnt looked right all season 😭

Zac Taylor is half correct. While I'm sure Burrow will start, I have yet to see proof that he'll play.

Why start a gimpy QB who is reluctant to push off and hit receivers downfield? For gawd’s sake, my share of @Real10jayy__ in fantasy is neutered ✂️☄️☄️ bc they don’t want to give JB time to heal right
