Joe Burrow is playing the best football of his career and some of the best football from any quarterback ever. Yet, while Burrow has been dishing, his team has now fallen to 4-6 after another instant classic against the Baltimore Ravens. Burrow would be the top MVP candidate if the team’s record were better, but the Cincinnati Bengals may not even make the playoffs.
Joe Burrow’s Unfortunate Stats In Losing Performances

The game was another instant classic similar to their first matchup this season, and while Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase tried their best to get the win, they failed at the end with a missed two-point conversion. Burrow made history in the loss for his unbelievable stat line. In every other game in NFL history that a quarterback put up the numbers he did they won, but he is the first to lose with such an incredible performance.
This was in fact, the second loss of any quarterback with such an elite stat line to lose, with the first game coming this season when Burrow played the Ravens. In both of these games against the Ravens, you can’t play better than Burrow did, yet he lost both.

There have been 2 instances in NFL history where a QB had:
30+ completions
300+ passing yards
4+ TD passes
multiple 40+ yard TD passes
no more than 1 INT…and yet still lost. Those 2 instances were Joe Burrow vs. the Ravens in Week 5 & Joe Burrow vs. the Ravens again tonight. pic.twitter.com/vfRaLghMC9

In Week 5, Burrow threw for 392 yards, five touchdowns, and only one interception in the Bengals’ overtime loss against the Ravens. In total, he threw for 820 yards and had a 9/1 TD/INT ratio against the Ravens this year.
None of that mattered though since the Bengals lost both games and are still behind the eight-ball this season.
Burrow is having an all-world season, completing 68.7% of his passes for 2,672 yards through the air, 24 touchdowns, and only four interceptions. He’d be more in the NFL MVP conversation if the Bengals had a better record.
They will need to win out the rest of their games if they want to sneak into the playoffs, and their schedule is not going to be a cakewalk:

Burrow is playing all-time football, and yet he may not even make the postseason because of how bad his team is around him. For young star quarterbacks, where you land is crucial for success and legacy, and Burrows’ is being wasted with a franchise that does not know how to take advantage of one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL.
If the Bengals make the playoffs, they will be the most dangerous team in the AFC. Burrow is the only quarterback who has proven capable of beating the Kansas City Chiefs, both at home and away.
