JJ Watt, former Houston Texans defensive end, took to social media to show his disapproval of the way the NFLPA has handled the recent accusations against executive director Lloyd Howell. Howell has been condemned quite lately for trying to steer the NFLPA in ways that might help the Carlyle Group, which has been trying their best to buy a minority stake in the NFL.

Howell also apparently was involved in a conspiracy with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and various team owners in the league to try and reduce the guaranteed pay of players. After all this, reports have been going around that Howell is being forced to resign from the NFLA. However, over the weekend, the NFLPA stated that they have no plans of letting go of Howell. Many like Watt have called out the NFLPA for exactly this.
“We have established a deliberate process to carefully assess the issues that have been raised and will not engage in a rush to judgement… As we approach the 2025 season, we look forward to continuing our important work together and ensuring the strength and unity of our association.” The NFLPA put out a statement regarding Lloyd Howell.
“Those are contradicting statements…” JJ Watt responded to the NFLPA’s statement about their executive director.

JJ Watt is, of course, not the only one who has come out in criticism of the NFLPA and Howell’s controversy. ESPN NFL analyst, Dan Wetzel, also took time to explain the situation and highlighted why football fans should pay more attention to what is going on in the league.
JJ Watt Donates $100K To Bryan Braman For Cancer Treatment
JJ Watt has always shown a generous side to himself when it comes to asking the right questions and also giving to those in need. Recently, Watt was reported to donate $100,000 to former NFL defensive end, Bryan Braman, who is struggling with cancer and is undergoing treatment for the same. Braman’s friend, William Jones, has created a GoFundMe for the Super Bowl champion to help with his treatment.

Apart from JJ Watt, other former NFL stars, including Chris Long and even Duane Brown, have also contributed to helping with Braman’s treatment. The GoFundMe goal for Jones has been set at $25,000, but it has crossed the maximum already. Watt also recently donated to a Texas-based restaurant to help the flood victims, which drew positive praise for the retired football player.
