The New York Jets may be calling the Aaron Rodgers experiment a failed one. A devastating injury derailed their first season and 2024 has been a nightmare. Having Rodgers play multiple seasons (not counting the injury season) has always been New York’s hope.
However, that may never happen.

Coming back from an Achilles injury and playing at a high level straight was always going to be a tough thing to do, and we have seen Atlanta Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins, who tore his Achilles last season too, now be benched for Michael Penix Jr.
When Cousins’ benching was brought up to Rodgers, he explained that there’s merit in thinking that Kirk will be a better version of himself physically in 2025, with the recovery from an Achilles injury being a long process.
Of course, that then brought the focus to Rodgers and his own situation and whether the same applies to him, to which he had a typical “Rodgers” answer.
“It’s possible, might be sitting on a beach, though,” Rodgers said with a smile.
Of course, only Rodgers knows what he is going to do next season. Fans also know he loves to stir the pot with some of his comments. However, that didn’t stop fans from reacting:
