Going into the 2024 NFL season, there were more than a few fans and analysts who believed that the New York Jets would be Super Bowl contenders. After all, future Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers was back from his torn Achilles, they signed wide receiver Mike Williams, added left tackle Tyron Smith, and added some promising young talent in the 2024 NFL Draft.
After 10 weeks, New York is 3-7, Rodgers is having his worst season as a starter, Williams was traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers, and any changes the Jets have made during the season have flopped.
On Sunday, New York lost to the Arizona Cardinals 31-6. Rodgers completed 22 of 35 passes for only 151 yards. He targeted his old buddy on the Green Bay Packers, wide receiver Davante Adams, 13 times, but completed just six of those passes for 31 yards.

The defense was just as bad, allowing Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray to become the first player in NFL history to complete 75% of his passes for 250+ yards while also rushing for two touchdowns.
In a season full of terrible losses, this one was the worst.
New York Jets Aaron Rodgers Is Not Giving Up on the Season
As noted above, no one on the Jets roster had a good game against the Cardinals. This was especially true of Rodgers, who said before the season that if he did not play well, many people, including himself, may not be back next season.
When asked about the outlook of the rest of the season now that New York is 3-7, Rodgers simply stated, “There’s a lot still in front of us.”
The Jets do have seven games remaining in the 2024 NFL season. However, given how they have played this year, there is not much hope among fans that they will be able to salvage their season.
Fans took particular exception to Rodgers’ statement:

He’s right.
1. A top 5 draft pick
2. An extended offseason
3. Lots of headlines in NY press https://t.co/ajyENskjQg pic.twitter.com/JfmdT9pKrl— #thefoodguy™️ MJ ⚾️🍎🌭🤙🏽 🏝🛬 (@MJTorres1230) November 11, 2024

A lot of time spent in Cancun or on the couch in the offseason? https://t.co/bjd5FQbzss

While it is true there is plenty of season left, the Jets are 3-7 and currently two games behind the Denver Broncos for the final wild card spot. The fact of the matter is that they are closer to having the worst record in the NFL than they are to a Playoff berth.
And the chances of that changing are not great.
