The New York Jets made the difficult decision to move on from Aaron Rodgers this off-season. While his two seasons with New York didn’t pan out the way they had hoped, it’s never easy moving on from a four-time NFL MVP who still puts up respectable numbers.
However, their new direction may very well include a different Super Bowl champion at the helm.
Jets Expected To Sign Super Bowl Champion QB To Replace Aaron Rodgers (Report)

According to Chris Phelps of Athlon Sports:
Despite all the hype that surrounded Rodgers and the Jets coming into the season, they failed to reach expectations. Falling to 5-12, New York finished with a worse record than 2023, when Zach Wilson was the top option with Rodgers sidelined.
Now, after just two seasons, the Jets have informed Rodgers that they will be moving in a different direction in 2025.
“Last week, we met with Aaron and shared that our intention was to move in a different direction at quarterback,” new head coach Aaron Glenn and general manager Darren Mougey said in a statement on Feb. 13.
New York will enter free agency as one of the more quarterback-needy teams in the league. The Athletic’s Mike Jones thinks he knows a good replacement for Rodgers in 2025, predicting the Jets will sign Kansas City Chiefs backup quarterback Carson Wentz.

Here is a look at Wentz’s career stats:
