Jerry Jones, Dallas Cowboys owner, will definitely regret his decision in making Brian Schottenheimer the head coach of his team, according to renowned sportscaster Colin Cowherd. Cowherd discussed his top predictions for the upcoming NFL season, including what he thinks will eventually happen to the Cowboys with Schottenheimer as head coach.
Schottenheimer was not exactly brought in from the outside to be the head coach of the team after Mike McCarthy was released. He was previously the offensive coordinator for the Cowboys and found himself promoted to a much bigger role, to everyone’s surprise and shock. However, Cowherd does not expect Schottenheimer to do much with the team and predicts that the head coach will be fired after the 2025 season.
“Number one, this is the least surprising of any I’ve done in the last two days. Brian Schottenheimer is a one-and-done. Jerry will know by Thanksgiving that he made a huge mistake. Forget the fact that Philadelphia and Washington will probably both blow them out in the division twice. We’ve got a lot of one-and-dones happening now. David Culley, Steve Wilks, Urban Meyer, Nathaniel Hackett, Antonio Pierce, Jerod Mayo. People liked Antonio Pierce. The Raiders played a lot of people tough, including the Chiefs. One and done happens all the time now.” Colin Cowherd spoke about Brian Schottenheimer and the Dallas Cowboys on ‘The Herd’.

Colin Cowherd is not the first one to predict such a thing. In fact, as soon as Jerry Jones had announced that he had promoted Brian Schottenheimer as head coach, many NFL analysts and fans voiced their opinions that the Cowboys would flunk in the next season.

Jerry Jones May Have A Good Reason For Making Brian Schottenheimer HC
Jerry Jones is a calculative businessman and clearly does not make any decision without thinking things through 100 different ways. And Jones may also have a superb reason for making Brian Schottenheimer head coach – to tank in the 2025 NFL season.

According to many NFL pundits, Jones has brought in Schottenheimer to purposely ensure that the Dallas Cowboys tank in the upcoming season. In doing so, the team will automatically reserve the rights for the first pick of the next NFL draft, which is predicted to be quarterback Arch Manning of the Texas Longhorns. By bringing Manning into their roster, the Cowboys are bound to have a much better record in the future, especially with Dak Prescott’s dwindling numbers and increasing age.
