Dallas Cowboys majority owner Jerry Jones’s daughter, Charlotte, recently got a flirty birthday tribute from the Cowboys, and from one player in particular.

At the Oxnard training camp opener, as seen in a video, the Dallas Cowboys paused their football drills to honor the daughter of Jerry Jones, executive vice president and chief brand officer, Charlotte Jones Anderson, on her birthday.
Amid the River Ridge Playing Fields ceremonies, Hall of Famer Charles Haley rallied teammates, staff, and fans to serenade her with “Happy Birthday,” then couldn’t resist quipping, “She’s fine, too, y’all,” drawing laughter and applause across the tented crowd.

On the other hand, critics have seized on Jerry Jones’s public handling of Micah Parsons’s extension talks as emblematic of a front office out of step with today’s market for premier edge defenders.
At the team’s Oxnard training-camp opener, Jones questioned Parsons’s availability—recalling missed games last season and even drawing a parallel to Dak Prescott’s injuries—before bluntly declaring “there’s no anticipation at all” around finalizing a deal, adding “I sign the check. Period.”
Jerry Jones Downplays “Pay Micah” Fan Chant
At Dallas Cowboys training camp, fans sporadically chanted “pay Micah,” but team owner Jerry Jones downplayed the noise, calling it a light buzz compared with last year’s much louder calls to “pay CeeDee Lamb.” Jones noted that Lamb’s absence in 2024 fueled louder demands, whereas Parsons was on the field, keeping his chorus more muted.
Jones suggested that crowd reactions tend to spike for players who aren’t in uniform, highlighting that whenever someone sits out, a few voices always rise up.

He contrasted the faint “pay Micah” echoes with the robust support fans showed for Lamb, underscoring that presence often softens the chorus for contract resolutions.
“I heard it light, but not compared to how I heard them say, ‘Pay [CeeDee] Lamb’ [in 2024],” Jones said via ESPN. “That was a faint little sound compared to the way they were hollering last year, ‘Pay Lamb.’ . . . Whoever’s not in, you can count on a few hollering that. But it was a big loud chant last year on Lamb.”

Despite the subdued chants, Jerry Jones praised Parsons as “maybe the most talented player we’ve had,” indicating the Cowboys still value him highly. The organization is expected to press Parsons to accept their forthcoming deal, but Jones hinted that a stronger show of dissent—like a holdout—would no doubt turn those casual chants into a much louder rallying cry.
