Jeremiah Smith, wide receiver for the Ohio State Buckeyes, recently signed an NIL deal with Adidas, despite his team already being sponsored by Nike. Smith’s collaboration with Adidas definitely came as a major shock and brought on reactions from several analysts and former football players.

Dez Bryant, retired Dallas Cowboys wide receiver, was one of many who reacted to the news of Smith’s deal with Adidas and basically called out Nike for losing out on a talented player like him. Smith is definitely one of the most talented college football players out there, managing 76 receptions in the previous NCAA season with an impressive 15 touchdowns.

“DIFFERENT❗️ Welcome to the three stripes, @Jermiah_Smith1 🔥.” Adidas Football US tweeted, announcing their NIL deal with Jeremiah Smith.

Jeremiah Smith already has a pretty decent portfolio of NIL deals with other brands as well. Apart from his recent whopping deal with sportswear giant Adidas, wide receiver Smith has also signed deals with Red Bull, Nintendo and even the clothing company Lululemon. With his impressive on-field talent, it is definitely clear that Smith’s NIL deals will only increase as his career progresses.

Jeremiah Smith Reveals Why He Chose Adidas Over Nike

In a recent interview with ‘The Athletic’, Jeremiah Smith confessed as to why he made the decision to collaborate with Adidas. Jeremiah Smith revealed that he has been wearing Adidas ever since he was a kid and that is the main reason as to why he agreed to the collaboration.

“I’ve been wearing Adidas since I was a young kid, 11, 10 years old. To be a part of the brand is something special.” Jeremiah Smith said to ‘The Athletic’ about his NIL deal with Adidas.

The NIL deal between Jeremiah Smith and Adidas has a value of $4.3 million and is reportedly the third-highest sum in college football right now. Smith’s impressive numbers for the Ohio State Buckeyes is among the top reasons as to why the player has been able to garner so many NIL deals in his career till date.
