Jaxson Dart is on his way to becoming one of the best prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft. As a quarterback with the skills, poise and skills to succeed at the next level, Dart has combined things with a combination of skill, poise and statistical dominance. His last few performances, most notably an MVP-type performance in the Gator Bowl, are why NFL teams ought to be lining up to draft him.
In the Gator Bowl, Dart led Ole Miss to a commanding 52-20 victory over Duke, torching a top-15 FBS defense. He had a throwing day for over 400 yards, four touchdowns, and an avg—11.5 yards per pass attempt. The NFL-caliber talent was clearly on display from Dart, whose ability to extend plays and throw a 51 yard dime to Jordan Watkins showed just how good he is.

Jaxson Dart is in the Perfect Scheme
Lane Kiffin’s quarterback-friendly scheme is often contributed to Dart’s success. But Dart’s schematic reliance is small, compared to other top-tier quarterbacks. For example, screens make up less than 9 percent of his dropbacks. Dart’s numbers rank among the top ten in critical efficiency metrics, with or without play action.
Dart’s 2024 season was statistically amazing. While finishing in the top five for QBR, EPA per play, and adjusted yards per attempt, he led the nation in total yards per game and total yards per play. Ultimately, though, the performance of these metrics speaks to Dart’s consistency and exactly how he’s able to elevate his team game in and game out. And his record-setting career at Ole Miss includes passing Eli Manning’s school passing yardage mark and Chad Kelly’s single-season record of 4,542 passing yards as well, further proof of Dart’s consistency.

Prospects like Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders hog all the headlines, but Jaxson Dart can climb toward the top in pre–Draft process. Aiming to get fully involved with the Senior Bowl, Dart can show his skills again, generate momentum in interviews, and enhance his claim to be among the best quarterback prospects.
Jaxson Dart hasn’t been a product of a system or a flash in the pan, but he is a poised battle-tested leader with some key tools to excel in that next stage of his life, the NFL. With his potential to shine on Sundays seemingly undeniable, you wouldn’t want to be a team that overlooks him in the 2025 draft.
