Jason Kelce wasn’t holding back after watching his brother’s team blow back-to-back goal-line opportunities.

The retired Eagles center recently called out the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback room. He urged them to install the polarized Tush Push system like Eagles, as he thinks the sneak play is the only way to enhance Chiefs quarterback play.
Jason Kelce Starts “Tush Push” Debate After Chiefs’ Goal-Line Disaster
Buffalo Bills beat Chiefs 28-21 in their week 9 clash. Patrick Mahomes reached the one-yard line three times but failed to score a touchdown. Meanwhile, Josh Allen powered in for two rushing touchdowns using Buffalo’s own QB sneak.
Bills executed their version twice and scored on both attempts. Kansas City tried different approaches and came up empty-handed each time. The contrast made Travis Kelce’s older brother visibly frustrated.
Jason didn’t control his words on the recent New Heights podcast. His message was blunt with no filter.
“Everybody in the league is running the Tush Push to some degree now. Other than the Chiefs, which you guys need to,” Jason said passionately. “I’m telling you for your f—– good. It’s a cheat code. Do it while they let you.” Kelce said about the Tush Push.
Then, he zeroed in on the play right before halftime. That moment stuck with him.
“Here’s the reality. That play before half, we gotta be able to tush push that thing in,” Jason continued. “They got two tush pushes. We need to get Noah Gray or somebody over there to get the tush push down. You can’t go into halftime only getting three points because you don’t f—– got a tush push in the goddamn play.”
The Tush Push is an upgraded quarterback sneak. The offensive line pushes forward while teammates shove from behind. In 2024, Eagles ran it 48 times and converted 39. That’s 96.6% success.
Jason acknowledged Mahomes can’t run it because of his knee issues. “Tush Push” requires perfect strategy and skill, not star power. However, Jason thinks Pat can solve it practically by using backup tight end Noah Gray or another player to run it.
Why Jason Kelce Keeps Hammering This Point
The former Eagles center perfected this play during his years in Philadelphia. Now he watches teams fail in the same spots where it usually works.
His remarks weren’t about this one game. Every week, teams struggle to gain yards in crucial short-distance situations. Eagles turned these into a cherry on the cake, while others just left with unnecessary complaints.
Some coaches call it “unfair” or “ugly football,” while others say it doesn’t fit their system. League officials considered banning it last year but Jason was there to defend the sneak play.
His point is simple. Since it’s allowed and it puts points on the board, use it. Bills stopped Any Reid’s squad three times because they knew what was coming. The Chiefs have talented players. They’re simply not trying to apply solutions that already exist.
And, we, quite frankly, barely see teams successfully use “Tush Push” in short-distance moments like the Eagles. Philly is best at doing this, not the Chiefs, 49ers, or any other team. So, how much Jason’s fiery rant helps the Reds in the next match remains to be seen.
