Jason Kelce had a hilarious take on Pope Leo XIV’s celibacy in the recent episode of the ‘New Heights’ podcast which he co-hosts with his brother, Travis Kelce. Both Jason Kelce and Travis Kelce are known Christians, their exact denomination is not known. However, it is known for sure that the brothers are not Catholic. Therefore, it is understandable that the Kelce’s don’t know much about Catholic rules, especially for popes.

Last week, Robert Prevost became the new Pope at Vatican City after the death of Pope Francis. Robert Prevost who took the name Pope Leo XIV, became the first pope from the United States. The news obviously delighted millions of Americans, including Jason Kelce and his brother. Travis Kelce was curious about the rules that the new Pope will have to follow, to which Jason Kelce answered with the information that he knew.

“Gotta be pretty devout, you can’t have s*x. That’s a big rule, that’s a big one,” Jason Kelce answered Travis about the rules of celibacy that popes have to follow.

“He made it out of Chicago without any intercourse, this guy can do anything,” Travis Kelce responded to Jason Kelce on the New Heights podcast.

After his retirement from the NFL, Jason Kelce has been busy with his podcast. Kelce played for the Philadelphia Eagles from 2011 to 2023 after being selected as the 191st pick in the sixth round of the NFL draft. In his NFL career, Jason Kelce has won the Super Bowl once with the Eagles.

Jason Kelce Struggles Physically After NFL Retirement

Jason Kelce also admitted to Travis Kelce that he is struggling physically after retiring from the NFL. Travis Kelce remarked to his brother that he could definitely play center. However, the former Philadelphia Eagles center confessed that he can’t do anything related to football anymore, simply because his body won’t let him.

Jason Kelce also admitted that once you retire from the sport, your body and mind both retire. Despite him trying to keep up with his workouts and his gym routines, the retired center feels that his back, knees and ankles have not been able to keep up.

Despite him struggling with his physical condition, it looks like Jason Kelce has been able to drop more than a few pounds. In a recent red carpet event, the brother of Kansas City Chiefs tight end, Travis Kelce, admitted that he is currently trying to lose weight and has shed more than 50 lbs. so far.
