Former Philadelphia Eagles star center and media darling Jason Kelce received backlash for his stance on the Fourth of July following Donald Trump’s signing of The One Big Beautiful Bill on Friday.
The controversial bill will include tax breaks for some and cuts to Medicaid and SNAP, while increasing funding for border security and national security.

Amid news that the bill passed on Independence Day, Kelce took to Instagram to voice his love for the country on the nation’s birthday.
“Man I love the 4th!,” Kelce wrote. “One of the great days we all can set aside our differences in this country, and enjoy the one thing we all share in common. That we are American!
“Cheers to you oh beautiful America.”

Unfortunately for Kelce, he kind of forgot that the United States government chose not to set aside their differences on Friday, choosing the holiday as a way to stage the signing of Trump’s rather radical agenda.
Kelce received backlash for the comment

Kelce received heavy backlash in the comments for his choice of words.
“I love you, bro, but your privilege is showing. You are able to set things aside, but not everyone has that privilege.” wrote a poster.
“Love you man but this holiday feels like a knife in the heart,” suggested a commenter.
“This is so tone deaf,” pointed another.
“Dude, no. This caption is so beyond tone deaf and insulting. People are suffering. People will die because of what’s happening. Human rights are being lost. Do better. This is actually horrendous,” wrote a concerned citizen.
“What a privileged caption. People can’t just set aside their fears, struggles and troubles for a day to celebrate this country–which is being ran by people who believe in hate vs love. How lucky for you, that you can. So out of touch!,” wrote another.
“Unfortunately Jason this is not real life for many. They signed the worst bill for so many Americans today just to rub it in our faces. I know it’s hard to understand, but so many will suffer,” believes another.
“We love you, Jason. But as a mom of two autistic kiddos, I’m really not feeling too proud of this country today,” posted a mother. “The new Medicaid cuts in the BBB (signed today) will have devastating impacts on the disabled community. You and Kylie do such incredible work to raise funds and awareness, that we appreciate so much. I know your heart is in the right place. But so many of us are truly grieving today.”
