Cincinnati Bengals fans are freaking out after a report surfaced that star wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase wants the type of money it takes to play quarterback for the New York Giants. $159 million in four seasons might not reportedly be enough for Chase to agree to a new deal with the Bengals.
Ja’Marr Chase wants big-time money from the Cincinnati Bengals
Richard Skinner told ESPN 1530 that Chase wants a four-year deal in the ballpark of $160 million with around $120 million guaranteed. To put that in perspective, the Minnesota Vikings gave Justin Jefferson $110 million in guarantees for his $140 million contract extension.
The Giants gave Daniel Jones four years and $160 million last year, except they gave him a $92 million guarantee, essentially giving the team an out after three years.
Chase is asking for the Moon before the start of the regular season. It remains to be seen if the Bengals will agree to those terms or if the team
can realistically offer those terms and field a competitive team. After all, the Bengals are paying quarterback Joe Burrow $55 million annually.
