Jalen Ramsey was recently named the top cornerback in the entire league for the second consecutive year. The poll consisted of votes by league executives, players and coaches. Surprisingly, one AFC executive labeled the Rams corner as “overrated”.
This comment left Ramsey upset and dumbfounded. What else is there to do than go to Twitter and publish your résumé? The answer: Not much because that is what Ramsey did.

Not only does Ramsey have all of these accolades to his name, but his play on the field also backs it up. In his first six seasons, Ramsey has 15 picks, 74 passes defended and a touchdown to his name. The 27-year-old has shown several times that if a quarterback throws his way, that is a mistake.
Don’t take that from some writer, though. Take the words of some legendary cornerbacks from the NFL’s past.
What are some of the greats saying about Jalen Ramsey?
Richard Sherman praised Ramsey. The former long-time Seahawks corner tweeted that Ramsey is “the standard now.”

By the looks of things, Ramsey is a darn good standard for the league. He has the accolades and the play to back up everything he is saying in his tweets.
Former Rams cornerback turned Thursday Night Football analyst Aqib Talib shared a similar sentiment to Sherman.
Talib tweeted in support of Ramsey a comparison of the careers of each player through six seasons. While the retired corner had more picks and touchdowns, Ramsey dominated him in career success. To conclude, Talib typed “you win,” in response to Ramsey.
Executives in the league are supposed to have knowledge of the players around the NFL. Despite this assumption, some voters listed Ramsey as outside of the top-five corners in the NFL.
If some all-time greats at the position are defending Ramsey, then one side of the debate is wrong. Those who played the position probably aren’t the ones who are wrong. As a result, to say Ramsey is overrated is asinine.
The question that remains is who underrated Ramsey?
