Jalen Milroe, one of the newest additions to the Seattle Seahawks locker room, recently received praise from the team’s head coach, Mike Macdonald. After the rookie minicamp, Macdonald spoke to reporters about his opinions on Milroe’s performance, and the head coach seemed more than pleased.
Milroe was selected by the Seattle Seahawks as the 92nd pick in the third round of the 2025 NFL draft. Before getting into the NFL, the 22-year-old quarterback played college football for the Alabama Crimson Tide from 2021 to 2024. In his senior year for Alabama, Milroe passed for 2,844 yards, scoring 16 touchdowns for the team.
“He’s got great energy, great competitive energy about trying to get it right, great command of the huddle. Really takes pride in the operation,” Macdonald said. “And then all these, all these fundamental things that we’re going to be building on from the ground up. He’s just got a great attitude about it. Coaches are doing a great job coaching on every play, and it goes for all our guys, but him especially. So you know, if you have that attitude, especially at the quarterback position, everybody else tends to fall in line. And in that regard, it was really, really fun to be around,” Mike Macdonald said about Jalen Milroe to reporters after the rookie minicamp.

With Jalen Milroe being added to their roster, the Seattle Seahawks will try to improve their record in the upcoming NFL season. In the 2024 NFL season, the Seahawks finished second in the NFC West with ten wins and seven defeats. The team played their very last game against the Los Angeles Rams, winning 30-25, but it was too late for the team to progress to the postseason.

Jalen Milroe Needs To Learn From Jayden Daniels, According To Mike Macdonald
On another note, Jalen Milroe is expected to copy Jayden Daniels according to head coach Mike Macdonald. Milroe revealed this after the rookie minicamp and mentioned that one aspect of his training involves emulating Daniels, who turned out to have an impressive year in his rookie season with the Commanders.

Daniels was the second pick of the Washington Commanders in the very first round of the draft. In his very first season, the quarterback was named NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. Perhaps head coach Mike Macdonald expects Jalen Milroe to follow a similar pathway. In the previous season, QB Daniels managed to throw for a total of 3,568 yards, scoring 25 touchdowns while managing nine interceptions for the team.
