Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback, was visibly absent in NFL analyst Mark Schlereth’s top 5 playmakers list. On Wednesday, Schlereth revealed his top five quarterbacks in the league list, stirring the pot with several unconventional choices. Perhaps the most bewildering name in the list was Cincinnati Bengals quarterback, Joe Burrow, who grabbed the first spot.
According to Schlereth, the main criterion for any quarterback making it to his list is ‘consistency’, which he felt that Burrows displayed better than all of the other signal-callers, including Kansas City Chiefs legend, Patrick Mahomes himself.
“@markschlereth ranks the top 5 QBs in the NFL:
- (Eyes emoji)
- Mahomes
- Lamar
- Allen
- Stafford” Breakfast Ball’s official X account tweeted.
“My number one guy at quarterback in the NFL, Joe Burrow. I just think that Joe Burrow is an absolute freak show,” Mark Schlereth said about the number one quarterback in his list.
Many people were taken aback by Mark Schlereth’s list, especially since it did not contain Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts’ name. However, in keeping Schlereth’s criterion in mind, it is understandable why the quarterback did not make the list, despite winning Super Bowl LIX against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. When compared to the other QBs who made it to Schlereth’s list, Hurts definitely lacks ‘consistency’.

Jalen Hurts To Release Children’s Book In 2026
Meanwhile, it looks like Jalen Hurts is about to inspire a whole generation of kids with his upcoming book ‘Better Than a Touchdown’. The book is set to release in March next year and will be available for purchase in retailers like Amazon, Target, and even Barnes & Noble.

The book is about a young kid called Jalen who wants to play football for his school. After the program is cancelled, Jalen and his friends come together to solve the problem to be able to play again. The story is written by Jalen Hurts and illustrated by Nneka Myers.

Jalen Hurts appeared a few days back on ‘The Today Show’ to talk about his book and revealed that the storyline itself has been inspired by special moments in his personal life. Hurts also remarked that he hoped that the story would inspire the next generation and “hopefully uplift them”. Hurts will be looking forward to another exciting season with the Philadelphia Eagles after winning Super Bowl LIX. The talented quarterback, who also got married recently, will be eager to add another ring to his collection.
