Jahmyr Gibbs, Detroit Lions running back, was all in praise of Randy Orton’s win against Joe Hendry in the recent Wrestlemania 41 in Las Vegas. Orton was supposed to fight Kevin Owens. However, Owens could not participate and Orton had to invite an open challenge to which Hendry agreed. Orton eventually won, delighting the crowd with his vintage moves in the ring.
Gibbs posted a picture of Randy Orton celebrating his win in the ring on his Instagram. Gibbs is currently awaiting the upcoming 2025 NFL season with the Lions. Gibbs has been playing for the Detroit Lions since 2023 after being selected as the 12th pick in the very first round of the NFL draft. Before the NFL, Gibbs played college football for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and the Alabama Crimson Tide before entering the draft.
“My goat!!!” Jahmyr Gibbs captioned his Instagram post.
With Jahmyr Gibbs on their side, the Detroit Lions finished at the top of the NFC North after winning 15 games and losing two. The Lions made it to the NFC Championship to take on the Washington Commanders, but lost the game with a final score of 45-31. In the 2024 NFL season, Gibbs managed a total of 250 carries for 1,412 yards, scoring 16 touchdowns for the team.

Jahmyr Gibbs’s Detroit Lions Will Be Keenly Shopping In Upcoming Draft
On another note, while Jahmyr Gibbs and the rest of the Detroit players will be soon attending the voluntary offseason workout with the team, the management itself will be looking forward to bringing in new talents in the upcoming NFL draft.

In the draft which will commence on Thursday, the team is expected to pick No. 28 in the first round. According to reports by FanDuel, the Detroit Lions will be drafting a defensive lineman in the very first round of the draft, which might be mostly Mykel Williams. Williams last played college football for the Georgia Bulldogs from 2022 to 2024, and in his senior year managed five sacks for the team.

Another player that the team will be eager to add to their roster will be Donovan Ezeiruaku, who played for the Boston College Eagles from 2021 to 2024. In his senior year, Ezeiruaku won the Ted Hendricks Award, after completing 37 solo tackles and 16.5 sacks for the team. Ezeiruaku also managed to impress NFL scouts at the combine a couple of months back, running the 40-yard dash in 4.28 seconds.
