Injuries have caused the Jacksonville Jaguars receiving corps to take a turn for the worse this season. Jaguars’ second-leading receiver, Christian Kirk, suffered a broken left collarbone in Week 8 and is out for the rest of the 2024 season. This time, their fourth-leading receiver, their WR3, suffered the same fate but a different injury.

The Jacksonville Jaguars $39 million WR suffered a non-contact knee injury
Gabe Davis injured his left knee late in the third quarter on a non-contact play after running a route and started limping before sitting on the turf as the medical staff checked him out against the Detroit Lions. During the postgame, Davis was spotted wearing a brace on his left knee and also had crutches on. He underwent an MRI to determine the severity of the injury.

He suffered a significant injury
According to Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, Gabe Davis suffered a meniscus tear that will require surgery. Davis can either undergo a meniscus trim, which will sideline him for a few weeks and possibly return until later in the season, or a full repair, which will sideline him for the rest of 2024. Either way, Doug Pederson announced he will miss the rest of the season.

Davis will finish the 2024 campaign, his first season in Jacksonville, with 20 receptions on 42 targets (47.6%) for 239 yards and two touchdowns in ten games. Not an ideal start for a receiver making $13 million a year. Another miss by Trent Baalke.
