“Jackson Arnold Was Never The Problem” – Oklahoma Football Fans React to Emergence of QB in Stellar 1st Half Against Ole Miss

Oklahoma football is 4-4, marking just the second time they have slipped under .500 through eight games since the 1998 season. On Saturday, the OU Sooners visited the ranked Ole Miss Rebels as a three-touchdown underdog and played a competitive half of football before falling flat in the final 30 minutes. Oklahoma held a short four-point halftime lead before losing 26-14, marking their third loss in as many games.

However, Oklahoma Sooners fans have not lost all hope following their third straight double-digit loss. Conversely, many took a victory lap with Oklahoma football’s offensive performance in their first game with Joe Jon Finley as the play-caller. Finley took over play-calling duties this week after the program parted ways with his predecessor, Seth Littrell.

Oklahoma Football Fans Bullish With Offensive Future

According to Fantasy Wildcard Devy on Twitter:

Jackson Arnold is back in the Oklahoma team and on a mission. He’s just put Oklahoma ahead in Oxford on the stroke of halftime! He’s 10-of-13 for 110 yards and 2 TDs.

On Saturday, the Oklahoma Sooners traveled to Oxford, Mississippi, to face the Ole Miss Rebels as 18.5-point underdogs. Oklahoma football debuted a new look offense, replacing the quarterback play-calling duo of Michael Hawkins and Seth Littrell. OU rolled out former starting quarterback Jackson Anrold and tight ends coach Joe Jon Finley, with the duo gaining immediate results. In the first quarter, Arnold willed the offense into the endzone, evading pressure before firing an 11-yard strike to tight end Bauer Sharp.

In the second quarter, Arnold tossed his second touchdown pass at the buzzer, a nine-yard pass to wideout Jacob Jordan. However, with injuries on the offensive line and entering the game sans their top five receivers, the OU offense stumbled in the second half, failing to score, while Arnold finished as a nine-time sack victim. He ended with 24 carries for 39 yards. Nevertheless, many Oklahoma football fans were content with the direction of the offense in a tough road match against Ole Miss:
