The New England Patriots are cutting a promising defender in his second season with the team, per multiple reports. The move came after the 2-8 Patriots lost to the Indianapolis Colts in Germany.
Much of the talk about the game was focused on the Patriots quarterback woes, as Mac Jones was benched for Bailey Zappe on the final drive. Zappe threw an interception to end the Patriots chances of winning in Week 10.

But the team has other troubles in a disappointing season.
The New England Patriots cut a CB
According to Mike Garafolo with ESPN, the Patriots are waiving cornerback Jack Jones.

The Patriots drafted Jones in the fourth round of last year’s draft. He had an excellent rookie season and was considered a rising star in the league at the cornerback position. Jones had offseason legal issues but came to a deal where he was placed on probation and was required to perform community service.
Jones’ play hasn’t been up to the bar he set for 2022, but he was considered a “leader” on the Patriots’ defense.
It was immediately unclear why Jones was cut on Monday. But one would assume he’ll find a new team soon.
