Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning is ready to be the starting quarterback after sitting behind Quinn Ewers for the last two seasons. Manning had to start for Ewers in a couple of games during the 2024 season because of an oblique injury.

Some Longhorns fans wanted head coach Steve Sarkisian to bench Ewers for Manning at points in the 2024 college football season. With Manning being the starting quarterback for the 2025 college football season, Longhorns fans are excited to see what they can do with him at the helm.
Texas Longhorns Quarterback Arch Manning Talks About Waiting His Turn

The Longhorns quarterback talked about being the backup quarterback for the last couple of seasons. Manning opened up about it and said,
“It was tough. It’s tough in this age. I hope it pays off. There’s nowhere else I want to be. I want to be at Texas. I have friends here. I love this place. I wanted to be the quarterback here. Sometimes it’s worth the wait.”
With the way NIL is these days, another college football team could have no doubt paid Manning to be there starting quarterback. Instead, Manning decided to wait his turn and be the Longhorns quarterback. Many expect him to be one of the top quarterbacks in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Manning will no question be one of the Heisman Trophy favorites in 2025. The Longhorns quarterback during the 2024 season completed 67.8% of his passes for 939 yards, nine touchdowns, and two interceptions. His QBR was 87.5. He also had a couple of rushing touchdowns during the 2024 college football season.
There is no doubt that there is going to be a ton of hype around him entering the 2025 college football season. Many think that Manning can help this football program reach new heights. They have not won the National Title since the 2005 season when Vince Young was the starting quarterback also.
