The Chiefs are not only in danger of not winning the AFC West division this season, but they are in danger of missing the playoffs entirely. Kansas City is currently ninth in the AFC standings and Denver is currently the number one seed in the AFC standings. This team has been successful over the years, but this year is not one of them. Kansas City is 0-5 in one score games this season. Head coach Andy Reid is 67 years old and has coached this team since 2013. Is he potentially close to retirement?

Kansas City has won three Super Bowl titles and has been to the big game in the past five of six seasons. With the Chiefs showing decline this season, there are many fans who want Reid to retire if they miss the playoffs. This is what some Kansas City fans had to say about it on Twitter after losing to Denver:

Well, if the Chiefs do miss the playoffs, it is going to be interesting to see what would happen with Reid. If he actually did retire from coaching, would defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo be promoted from defensive coordinator to head coach? If not, Kansas City no question would be the most attractive head coaching opening this upcoming offseason because of quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
