The Indiana Hoosiers had one of the most magical college football regular seasons in recent memory. Despite not winning the BIG10 Conference, Indiana finished with an 11-1 record this season.
Head coach Curt Cignetti was in his first season with the program after being with the James Madison Dukes from 2019-2023. Cignetti has brought back promise to this Hoosiers fanbase.
Indiana Hoosiers Curt Cignetti Makes Comments Ahead Of Notre Dame Fighting Irish Matchup
When the Hoosiers found out that they were going to be the 10th seed in the college football playoffs, they also found out that would be facing the seventh-seed Notre Dame Fighting Irish. This will be an in-state battle in the college football playoffs. This game will be played on Friday, December 20 at 8 p.m. ET.
Cignetti spoke to CBS Sports about preparing for a playoff game and said:
“It’s a piece of cake, I’m used to being in the playoffs and used to advancing in the playoffs.”
He coached in the FCS and made the playoffs with James Madison. Cignetti also coached the Elon Phoenix in the FCS in the CAA Conference in 2017 and 2018 as well. Cignetti is experienced in making the playoffs at other levels of college football, but the FBS is going to be a different animal altogether. It will be interesting to see how it will go for him with Indiana on the first try.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish will be a very difficult opponent for the Hoosiers in the college football playoffs. This is good for college football that this in-state matchup will be happening, but it won’t be easy for Cignetti to prepare for. The winner of Indiana and Notre Dame would face the #2 Georgia Bulldogs.
