Aaron Rodgers took a nasty shot to the face while Steelers put on a flop show against Buffalo Bills on Sunday. The 41-year-old quarterback went straight to the medical tent since there was blood coming out from his nose.

The injury was just one more disaster in an afternoon full of them as their home crowd booed them at Acrisure Stadium. Fans were so fed up that in the second half they chanted to fire head coach Mike Tomlin.
Even the offense couldn’t move the ball. And Rodgers didn’t sugarcoat any of it in his postgame presser.
Aaron Rodgers Opens Up About Broken Nose
Rodgers took a brutal hit from Bills edge rusher Joey Bosa on the first play of the second half. Bosa drilled him into the Acrisure Stadium turf and the ball popped free for a fumble recovery touchdown.
Rodgers laid face down for several moments before jogging to the sideline. There was blood on his nose after the hit. He went into the blue medical tent and sat out one series while getting patched up.
“I hope it’s not broken but yeah, just had to stop the bleeding. It was bleeding all over the place,” Rodgers said, per Brooke Pryor. Backup Mason Rudolph took over for one series.

The veteran signal-caller already had a fractured left wrist heading into the game. Adding a potentially broken nose on top of that shows his toughness.

However, before the nose break, he was not remarkable. He completed just 10 passes of 21 attempts for 117 yards. The offensive core was suffocating to watch. The future Hall of Famer made it clear he wasn’t taking all the blame.
Aaron Rodgers Calls Out WRs for Running Wrong Routes
The injury wasn’t Rodgers’ only postgame talking point. The California native put his receivers under fire during his postgame presser. He called out missed routes and questioned whether players were mentally locked in during film sessions.
Rodgers pointed to a crucial fourth-quarter play where he tried connecting with tight end Jonnu Smith in the end zone. The ball sailed incomplete because Smith ran the wrong route.
“When there’s film sessions, everybody shows up,” Rodgers said. “And when I check to a route, you do the right route. Jonnu and I weren’t on the same page. I checked to his in-breaker and he ran an out-breaker.”

Smith’s mistake likely cost the Steelers a touchdown and killed any hope of a comeback. Rodgers called him a true professional but made sure everyone knew whose fault it was.
Pittsburgh managed just 166 yards of total offense, the third-lowest total in Tomlin’s 19 years of Steelers tenure. They dropped to 6-6, where Bill improved to 8-4.
However, Rodgers called out his teammates, which has raised significant eyebrows. He knows how to handle the noise, but he chose to question publicly, expecting a bare minimum from his receivers.
