Is Raiders WR Jakobi Meyers the Next Big Name to Be Traded?

The Las Vegas Raiders are heading into the bye week with uncertainty looming around one of their top offensive player- Jakobi Meyers. According to ESPN and ESPN+ reports, Meyers, who is in the final year of his contract, has requested a trade and has become one of the most-talked-about names ahead of the November 4 trade deadline.

Las Vegas is at 2-5 and consistently in a quarterback situation regarding Geno Smith. Moreover, the front office is dilemma about holding onto their target or cashing him before he hits free agency.

What’s Going On With Jakobi Meyers?

According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, many teams are interested in Jakobi Meyers. But the Raiders’ asking price is excessively high. Schatz added that teams have found it “hard to get a clear read” on whether Las Vegas is truly willing to move him, and the team would require at least a Day 2 draft pick to have any interest in a deal.

Meyers doesn’t refrain from sharing his bold stance. “They know how I feel”, he told Adam Schefter of ESPN. “If you move me, you move me. But in the meantime, I’ve got teammates I care about, and I’m trying to be my best self for them”.

Meyers has been in one of the brightest statistical spots for the Raiders. In seven games, he has achieved 29 receptions for 329 yards, but has not scored a touchdown in 2025. His steadiness as a run-in route and reliable hands are some of the reasons that can make him a useful WR2 with playoff ambitions.

Even when the Raiders are in need, Meyers’ potential makes him a marketable asset. In 2023, he had 71 catches, 807 yards, and 8 touchdowns, which indicates that he can perform well in a functioning offense. According to PFSN analysts, teams like the Pittsburgh Steelers and Denver Broncos may be a good fit, as both lack dependable depth at the wide receiver position.

The Raiders’ team, which ranks lowest in the Offensive Impact metric of PFSN (62.7), may need a refresh with some of its younger players, such as Tre Tucker and Jack Bech, in the event of a trade. In the meantime, Geno Smith, who is at the league lead in interceptions (10), would lose one of the few reliable targets.

Meyers can elevate the passing game of a contender, and he is gifted and professional enough to do so, but in Las Vegas, his position is becoming increasingly unstable. The Raiders claim they are willing to retain him, but the trade talk is that they are not. Jakobi Meyers is among the most likely players who could create trade drama in the final days, as it may alter his future and the course of the Raiders.
