Iowa will travel to Ohio State this weekend, which will be the toughest test for both teams so far this season. Iowa has already seen one loss to Iowa State, and the Buckeyes have yet to face hard competition, but they will be tested this week.
The Hawkeyes have one of the best players in the country in star running back Kaleb Johnson, who has carried the offense for the entire season.
Iowa Star Takes A Shot At Ohio State
Johnson knows a lot about Ohio State football because he is from Hamilton, Ohio, which is a little under two hours away from Columbus. Still, the Buckeyes never offered Johnson a scholarship.
The 21-year-old running back spoke to the media on Tuesday and stated he wants to beat the top dog, and if he had been offered a scholarship from Ohio State, he would’ve never gone there.
“I wanna beat the top dogs. I don’t wanna be with them. I want to beat them”.

It’s interesting that Johnson said that he wouldn’t have gone to Ohio State even though he grew up in the Buckeye State, and there is a great chance he is just saying that because he is now at Iowa.
If you grow up in the state of Ohio and get offered a scholarship to play college football at Ohio State, then you’re most likely going. If you don’t go, that probably means you weren’t the school’s first choice but got offered any way for protection.
Johnson gave the Buckeyes some bulletin board material this week, and that’s something you don’t want to do against a defense that has only allowed three touchdowns through four games.
Iowa’s offense has a hard time scoring in the first place, and now they will try to do it against a defense that is one of the best in the country with much more motivation.
