Chris Ballard and the Indianapolis Colts are heading into a very important 2025 NFL Draft. After missing the playoffs once again during the 2024 season, the franchise has been very aggressive this offseason.
During free agency, the Colts focused heavily on bringing in more defensive talent. That leaves them open to potentially focusing on the offensive side of the football in the draft.
Speaking of free agency, Indianapolis was able to sign former San Francisco 49ers star cornerback Charvarius Ward and former Minnesota Vikings safety Camryn Bynum. Both of those players are going to improve positions that badly needed to be upgraded.
Looking ahead to the draft, the Colts have received a major prediction of pulling off a huge trade to land a major weapon for quarterback Anthony Richardson or potentially Daniel Jones.
Indianapolis Colts Predicted to Make Huge Trade for 19-Touchdown Weapon
Chad Reuter of NFL.com has released a new seven-round mock draft. He has Indianapolis moving up from the No. 14 pick to No. 13 in order to land Penn State tight end Tyler Warren.
“The Colts don’t typically trade up, but GM Chris Ballard could be enticed by a desire to fend off other teams who might be trying to acquire the large, agile, sure-handed Warren.”
Warren would be a huge addition for the Colts’ offense. They currently don’t have a great tight end and Warren has the potential to become a superstar right off the bat.
During the 2024 college football season with the Nittany Lions, Warren caught 104 passes for 1,233 yards and eight touchdowns. Having that kind of playmaker at tight end would do wonders for Shane Steichen and company.
Moving up is not something Ballard has done much, but this would be a prime opportunity for a team that badly needs more offensive weapons.
