The (8-5) Indianapolis Colts play on the road against the (10-3) Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field for Week 15 on Sunday afternoon. Indianapolis aims to end its three-game losing streak and remain alive in the AFC playoff picture with a victory over Seattle. However, it will be even more challenging for the Colts, as the Seahawks boast an elite defense that ranks second in points, sixth in total yards, fifth in takeaways, and fourth in sacks, especially given their quarterback dilemma.
Indianapolis Colts lured a 44-year-old out of retirement

Philip Rivers came out of retirement on Tuesday and joined the Colts’ practice squad, with the plan for him to practice this week to determine whether he will play, after coaching St. Michael Catholic High School since 2021. This comes as Daniel Jones is out for the season with a torn Achilles tendon and fractured fibula, Anthony Richardson remains on IR due to an orbital bone fracture, and Riley Leonard is dealing with a PCL sprain. Rivers and Leonard both split first-team reps during practice, as the rookie is good to go for Sunday. The team had until 3:00 p.m. CT. to elevate the 44-year-old to the gameday roster.

According to Ian Rapoport, the Colts will start Philip Rivers against the Seattle Seahawks, marking his regular-season debut after five years out of the league. As a result, the team will soon elevate the 44-year-old grandfather from the practice squad to the gameday roster, making the news official. Lastly, Riley Leonard will serve as Rivers’ backup and could also see some playing time against the Seahawks’ elite defense.
