The Indianapolis Colts had a chance to stay alive in the playoff race in the AFC on Sunday against the New York Giants. Indianapolis entering the day had a 7-8 record and New York had a 2-13 record. On Sunday, the Colts were stunned on the road against the Giants and lost by a final score of 45-33.
With the loss, the Indianapolis Colts were eliminated from playoff contention and dropped to 7-9 on the season. A lot of Colts fans are questioning head coach Shane Steichen after the loss against the Giants.
Indianapolis Colts Head Coach Shane Steichen Comments On His Job Security After Loss Against the New York Giants
Steichen is in his second season with the Colts as head coach after being the Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator. Shane Steichen missed the playoffs last season with Indianapolis as well. He spoke to the media and was asked about his job security. Steichen said:
“I control what I can control.”
It would be interesting to see if owner Jim Irsay would fire him and general manager Chris Ballard at the end of the season. There is also a chance that Ballard is just fired, but there is also a chance that both are kept heading into the 2025 NFL season. Steichen would be on a short leash for next season if Indianapolis kept him past this season.

This is a tired worn out response. Steichen wasn’t out there missing tackles. Either the players suck at playing or the coaches such at coaching. It’s pretty simple.
Be a man and say it how it is. They don’t need protected. They’re grown men. maybe…

There are a lot of Colts fans who are fed up with Steichen after just two NFL seasons. The Colts will face the Jacksonville Jaguars in the final week of the NFL season. Will see if the Colts have mailed it in for the final game of the 2024 NFL season.
