Indianapolis Colts legendary head coach Tony Dungy is under the political spotlight after sharing a post about presidential candidate Kamala Harris composed of his thoughts on abortion. This feud began after Harris took a shot at the republican nominee, Donald Trump, for his stance on abortion and women’s rights. Dungy weighed in on Harris’s comments on Twitter and made it clear which side he stands with.
Kamala Harris Takes Shot at Trump
Here is the comment the current Vice President made to Trump on his abortion stance:
One does not have to abandon their faith or deeply held beliefs to agree: The government, and certainly Donald Trump, should not be telling a woman what to do with her body.
Indianapolis Colts Coach Criticizes Harris
This take caused the Colts’ former coach to respond to the Vice President with some questions, indicating that he disagreed with her beliefs.
Dear VP Harris: I hear you make this statement all the time. Exactly what ‘faith’ are you talking about when you say you don’t have to abandon it to support abortion? Are you talking about the Christian faith that says all babies are made in the image of God (Gen 1:26), that God places them in the womb (Jer 1:5), and that we should not take any life unjustly (Luke 18:20)?
Are you talking about that faith or something nebulous, general ‘faith’ that says we’re good enough and smart enough to make our own decisions? What ‘faith’ are you talking about?
Viewers of Dungy’s post mostly supported his stance, but he has also received some backlash as well. Harris has not responded to these questions, and it will likely remain that way.
What are your thoughts on the legendary coach’s questions and beliefs?
