The Indianapolis Colts had an outside shot to make the playoffs in the AFC after the Cincinnati Bengals defeated the Denver Broncos on Saturday night in overtime. The Colts entered Sunday with a 7-8 record against the New York Giants who were 2-13 and not trying to win.
The Colts were stunned on the road against the Giants and lost the game by a final score of 45-33. Indianapolis’s defense let Drew Lock have the best game of his NFL career by completing 17-of-23 passes for 309 yards and four touchdowns. Malik Nabers also gave the Colts defense problems with catching seven receptions for 171 yards receiving and two touchdowns.
Indianapolis Colts Fans Call For the Team To Start Over After Latest Loss Against the New York Giants
To no surprise, the Colts fanbase was stunned by losing to the Giants on Sunday afternoon. They have only made the playoffs twice in the last eight seasons and both times were as wild-card teams in the AFC. This is what they had to say after the loss against New York:
This team needs a complete reset. Top to bottom. Ownership included.

I’ve honestly never felt so hopeless with my team throughout my life. To give up 45 points to a 2 win team is absolutely inexcusable.

As a Jags fan: don’t change anything! Keep the GM!

Fire everyone!! Such an embarrassment.

A lot of Colts fans will point the issue at owner Jim Irsay, but the biggest problem with Indianapolis is also general manager Chris Ballard. He is responsible for reaching on quarterback Anthony Richardson in the 2023 NFL Draft and he is also responsible for other issues on this roster.
General Manager For a While
Since the 2017 season, Chris Ballard has been the general manager of the Indianapolis Colts. With the loss against the New York Giants, there is no question that this could be the final straw for Ballard. The Colts could very well be looking for a new general manager next season.
When Frank Reich got fired a couple of years ago, some fans wanted Ballard fired then as well. Well, those Indianapolis fans were right that the issue was bigger than Frank Reich, Carson Wentz, and others. Chris Ballard is responsible for the issues with the Colts, especially after that loss against the New York Giants.
